- Club Update – June 19th 2020 -

Thanks to some excellent speakers, the efforts of the Club Committee and the brilliant contributions from members, Wimborne CC have kept up an engaging and active programme since the pandemic basically trashed the last 6 weeks of our 2019/20 season.

Twelve weeks or so ago we’d not even heard of Zoom – now we’ve become competent in its use and we’ve relied on it to keep us together!

We’ve enjoyed seeing our members’ images and hearing them describe, in their own words, what they shot in the lockdown.  Some of the work and the accompanying back stories have been as inspiring as they’ve been innovative.  We plan one more of these for June 29th, where we’re inviting panels in a series of three individual images, plus commentary.  Anything goes, provided it’s a sequence and it was shot during “lockdown”.  Closing date will be Friday June 26th.

We’re going to have maybe one more speaker, in mid-July (to be announced) and then we’ll break for the summer.

Look out for our 2020/21 programme soon to be released.   This has been much more challenging than in previous years, as we don’t know the extent of any movement/meeting restrictions, so we may be having combinations of meetings and remote sessions.

Until then, keep safe and keep up the brilliant work.

We are an active, friendly camera club with a strong membership and a warm welcome for visitors and potential new members.

Membership is available to anyone aged 18 years and over. We offer a varied annual programme with an emphasis on encouraging our members to improve their knowledge and practice of photography. We have informative and interesting speakers throughout our season, offering a great opportunity to learn from their knowledge and experience ... or, maybe, just an encouragement to look at things a different way. It doesn’t matter what sort of camera you have, or equipment, we will help you improve the images you create.

Visitors are very welcome. There is a fee of £3 a night which is refundable against the annual subscription fee  if you join the club.

Our current subscription is £40 for the 2019/20 season. People joining later in the season have the fee reduced proportionately.

Our normal programme season operates between September to April, when we meet at 7:30p.m. every Monday at St Michael's Church, Colehill Lane, Colehill, Wimborne BH21 7AB.
